What Is Doppler Wind Lidar

Doppler wind Lidar refers to "weather Lidar" that uses the Doppler effect to measure the radial movement of particles in the atmosphere relative to the observer. It can measure horizontal wind, vertical motion, turbulence and wind shear at various heights, and can also monitor dangerous weather phenomena such as downdrafts, tornadoes, and thunderstorms.
